What to Expect After a Chemical Peel

How Chemical Peels Work

The chemical solution is applied to the skin, and you may feel a tingling or stinging sensation as it dries. A neutralizing agent is used to remove the chemical solution after a few minutes. Chemical peels are typically done on the face and neck but can also be used on other problematic areas of the body.

What to Expect After a Chemical Peel?

The recovery time after a chemical peel varies depending on the strength of the peel you selected. However, there are some general symptoms that you can expect after a chemical peel.

It’s normal to experience some redness, irritation, and mild swelling of the treated skin after a peel. Depending on the type of peel, the redness can last up to 7 days.

Peeling will begin after about 2-3 days as the skin gets rid of the dead skin cells.  Flaking may continue peeling for up to one week, and there will also be some dryness and sensitivity. Once the exfoliation process is complete, your skin will look smoother, plumper, and brighter.

The PRX-T33® Difference – No Peeling!

Unlike traditional peels that exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin (epidermis), the PRX-T33® targets the inner layer (dermis), so it does not peel. That’s what makes the PRX-T33® so revolutionary. The PRX-T33® is a next-generation peel that rejuvenates the skin from the inside out and leaves it smoother, brighter, and tighter.

Caring for your Skin after a Chemical Peel

Your skin will be very sensitive after receiving a chemical peel, so it is essential to treat it gently. Be sure to use sunscreen regularly and avoid irritating ingredients.
