What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers add volume under the skin, lifting fine lines and wrinkles as well as restoring natural fullness.
Each type of dermal filler offers specific benefits to different parts of the face. They can be used to restore fullness to the skin and reduce signs of aging. Different types of fillers work better for different areas of the face, and we will use the filler that will provide you with the best results.
Types of Dermal Fillers
One very popular type of filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a molecule found in the body and naturally at higher levels in younger skin. Some of these fillers, such as Juvederm®, have several options based on the thickness of hyaluronic acid molecules. This offers a variety of textures. Some of these fillers work best in specific parts of the face.
Another type of dermal filler contains polylactic acid. These fillers, such as Spectra®, do not provide instant results, but they stimulate your body to produce its own collagen for natural, longer-lasting results.
Other materials used for dermal fillers include calcium hydroxylapatite. All materials used for dermal fillers are biocompatible, and reactions are very unlikely.
